Living in Abbotsford means that you get to enjoy the luxury of living in the country, while never being far from every amenity you could possibly need. The city has its very own international airport, so yes – they really have it all.

Year-round, there’s never a lack of things to do here; spend a fall evening cheering on the Cascades at a home basketball game, shop till you drop at Highstreet mall, or escape rainy weather by taking in a movie at Cineplex.
But spring and summer is when the locals in Abbotsford really get to take advantage of living where they do. With an endless number of trails to bike, hike and explore, there’s always something to do when the sun rises. You can take a stroll along meandering paths and trails along Townline Hill or Clearbrook Park or challenge yourself with a full day’s hike on Sumas Mountain.

Or, if hiking isn’t your thing, look to the skies at the yearly Abbotsford Airshow, play 18 holes at one of many golf courses around town, splash around at the waterslides at Cultus Lake…the list goes on and on.

Afterwards, if the view isn’t reward enough, treat yourself to dinner with friends on the patio at a local restaurant. Abbotsford is a hidden gem for foodies. Visit the Abbotsford Farm & Country Market which takes place every Saturday during the summer or follow-along the “Slow Food Movement” with a visit to one of Fraser Valley’s numerous shops and services included in the Fraser Valley Slow Food Cycle Tours.

With all of these activities and more so readily accessible, it’s easy to see how Abbotsford has come to be known as the “City in the Country.”
